Gays of Thunder Bay (GTB) was one of the earliest organizations supporting queer people in Thunder Bay. The group sought to create a community of queer people who could both have fun together and bring change to the Thunder Bay community. One of the group's biggest goals was to develop a community centre. 

The editions of the newsletter, Gay Thunder Bay / Thunder Gay, shared below, reflect the queer community in Thunder Bay as it developed. Some issues talk about other things going on across Canada, with some notable queer figures appearing in these pages. The quest to build and maintain a queer community is never-ending, and would continue with organizations that followed GTB.
