Description
Black and white drawing of the front view of Fort Kaministiqua along the Kaminisitiqua river. This fort was established by the North West Company as a trading post circa 1803. By 1807 the fort had been renamed to Fort William in honour of William McGillivray, chief director of the North West Company. This fort would greatly expand in the coming years, eventually becoming a part of modern day Thunder Bay.
