A black and white collection of photographs of various buildings, sights and ships around Port Arthur. Photos display the following from top left to bottom right (along with any descriptions provided):
Note: Any references to events occurred at the time the notes were made (est. early-mid 1900s) not present day.
1. S. S. Algonquin - first freighter owned by Thomas Marks, a very prominent figure in the growth of Port Arthur
2. Yacht Clubs - the C. P. R. freight office now
3. Ferry S. S. Kakabeka plying between Fort William and Port Arthur
4. Town Hall - The Masonic Hall was upstairs and the public meeting hall was downstairs. There were many social gatherings here, including the theatre and the opera, the first being El Capitaine, 1905
5. Around the docks - Mary-Ann of Dunnil, number one in the Canadian register, 1867
6. The Dawson residence, Corner Park and Cumberland Sts. "The S. J. Dawson home the present site of the metropolitan store. His old property extended from the old Algoma Hotel to Park Street. Dawson was one of the first property owners in Port Arthur and can be acclaimed as the father of our city."
