Herstory: Gertrude Dyke
Description
An oral history interview with Mrs. Gertrude Dyke in Port Arthur, Ontario. The interview was performed by Helen Lovekin as part of the Women's Decade Council Herstory project.
During the interview, Mrs. Dyke recalls the social and working conditions of Northern Ontario in the early 20th century, focussing on the education system, her personal historical interests, regional terrain, temperance movements, local businesses, community and personal relationships, and the activity of women.
The recording consists of two sides each of two cassette tapes, available here as four MP3 files. (Click on the speaker logo to play each file.)
