(Shared with all photos on page) "Photographs taken of the dewatering of Kirkroyale Gold Mines, Kirkland Lake, Ontario. The water was up to ground level, the depth of the mine was 1,250 feet with 6,000 feet of drifting underground. An Air-lift was used in preference to a pump and the pictures illustrate a weir for measuring the discharge of the air-lift. The shaft was 13' x 9' and the drifts 6' x 7'. The operating took six weeks."
