He did, however, continued the President, accept a~ 1nvitat1on to visit the campus and speak to Senate The spe(1al Senate meeting was called for last Friday to discus ~ the report from the Interim B~dget Committee a~d the report from the AcadAmlc Planning Committe. who have been 1nterviev1ing an tr!e departmental Chairmen, with in the last few w02ks in order to determine the val1d1~y of programs and where poss i bl e cuts m1ght be made The Budget comm1tte report was oresented by Dr. Kent and three definate motions came out of the report and were passed by Senate 1hese, in effect, were: 1. That Facult ]es be examined for a poss1ble realignment into fewer Faculties to reduce ddministrat1ve costs. 2. ~hat there would be a proportional reduction in administrative officers 1f faculty cuts were made. 3. That there be no replacement in the Office of the President from outside the UniversH_y and that there be an ·interim Acting Pres1dent, The report of the Academic Planning Committee was far less def1n~te.
